– Firstly, according to the square duct manufacturing process, the finished product has sharp edges and corners. This inadvertently creates a rather large disadvantage that is easily scratched on impact. Moreover, it can be dangerous for workers when installing, cleaning.
– Second, square air ducts cannot be used by all buildings. In fact, many drawings need roundness, so square ducts can’t meet it.
Manufacturing process of square air duct at P69 Mechanical Factory
In order to produce square ducts, they must go through a strict square duct production process. Currently, square ducts are produced by the Autoline V line. The production process of square ducts includes the following steps:
1. Loading and pulling ingredients
In this step, the tole is loaded into the Autoline V square duct production machine. The machine can hold up to 5 tons of material, lifted and fed to the support shaft. After the tole is inserted into the shaft, the material pulling process takes place.
Tole pulling will be done by 2 Autoline II roles. The system will pull and remove the material from the corrugated iron roll.
2. Straighten the tendons to increase stiffness
3 other Autoline II roles will do the job of straightening the tole surface. After having a flat tole plate, Autoline II’s 2 rolls will roll stiffeners to create ribs to add stiffness to the material.
In the production process of square air ducts, this stage is very important, it helps to make the ducts more rigid and difficult to be distorted when finished products. At the same time, the corrugated iron will be grooved square ribbed.
3. Corner cutting, cut off into sheets
Angle cutting system of 4 cutters arranged to cut the right angle. After cutting corners, the system will proceed to cut the tole into sheets. The hydraulic cutter system is made of hardened and polished SDK steel for increased sharpness. The material is pre-programmed to size, when it passes through the cutter, the sheet of material leaves the corrugated iron roll and it is full size to form a complete square duct.
4. Double eyelids
The double lashing system consists of a roll system arranged to break the edge of the material into a double lash. After running the double seam, the system will return to the original position, the material continues to pass through the second conveyor to move to the flange running system.
The double flange running system consists of 2 roller systems arranged to break the flanges on both sides of the material plate. After going through the double flange running system, the basic material sheet has been completed, just need to bend it into a square tube to form a square duct.
6. Fold into a duct
Folding is the final process of square duct production using Autoline V. The material will be fixed by a pre-programmed robotic arm system to push the material into the folding machine according to the pre-set dimensions. ready to be made into ducts with the size required by the production order. After this process, the basic ductwork product is completed.
7. Close the eyelid, close the corner.
To form a complete duct, the duct must be seamed and angled with corner kegs. The Autoline V ductwork production line does not have an automatic seaming and cornering system. For seaming, it is necessary to use a separate seam machine or use manual seaming.
To close the corner, use a separate corner closing system. After seaming and closing the corner, a complete air duct is formed.
